Description: A focus of this Thoroughfare Plan update is identifying potential connectivity issues and providing recommended updates, either by refining alignments to thoroughfares already planned or by adding future preferred connections. In making recommendations for connectivity improvements, topography, floodplain areas, private/gated streets, and compatibility with existing and future development were all considered. While many proposed thoroughfares in outlying rural areas will likely not be needed or constructed in the near future, one of the most important purposes of the Thoroughfare Plan is to enable the City to preserve appropriate transportation corridors so that as development occurs in the future, the right-of-way needed to provide connectivity for the community can be secured. Individual street improvements may be constructed by private developers, the City of Kerrville, Kerr County, TxDOT, or some combination of these, and some connections may need to be prioritized over others to improve local circulation or regional connectivity. The Kerrville 2050 Thoroughfare Plan was adopted on 06/26/2018 and was last amended on 06/23/2020.Read more about the Thoroughfare Plan in the Kerrville 2050 Comprehensive Plan, https://www.kerrvilletx.gov/DocumentCenter/View/32515/Kerrville-2050-Comprehensive-Plan-Adopted-2018_06_26Retrieved and projected by Sara Dunlap on 5/18/2021 from City of Kerrville GIS Portal: https://www.kerrvilletx.gov/1101/GIS-Mapping-System

Description: The future land use plan for the Kerrville 2050 Comprehensive Plan was developed by Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc.The information depicted on this Plan illustrates generalized future land uses and their relationships and is not intended to reflect precise densities or property dimensions. A Land Use Plan does not constitute zoning regulations or establish zoning district boundaries. Parks and open spaces and public/semi-public uses, including civic and institutional uses, such as schools, police and fire stations, libraries, etc. are intended to be developed throughout the City, and may be part of any land use category.Retrieved and projected by Sara Dunlap on 5/18/2021 from City of Kerrville GIS Portal: https://www.kerrvilletx.gov/1101/GIS-Mapping-SystemLineage statement: After being requested to upload the future land use plan from Kimley-Horn to the online interactive maps, several issues were discovered that needed to be resolved before the upload. 1. The future land use plan was delivered in four different GIS layers; future land use, public use, parks & open space, and strategic catalyst areas. a. The future land use plan needs to be merged into one GIS layer to upload to the GIS Portal so that all place types are toggled on or off at the same time. 2. Overlaps within the future land use GIS layer were identified. a. Whichever place type was visible became the only place type for the overlap area. 3. Overlaps between the future land use, public use, parks & open space were identified. a. Park & open space took precedence over public use and public use took precedence over Future Land Use. 4. Inconsistencies with how right-of-ways and waterways were incorporated or left out of the future land use plan. a. Development Services decided to leave these areas how Kimley-Horn drew them. 5. Inconsistencies with how place types were grouped together into one polygon or broken up into individual polygons. a. Contiguous areas of the same place type were merged into a multipart polygon. Non-contiguous area were broken into individual polygons. 6. Gaps and overlaps between the place types and the strategic catalyst areas. a. Development Services decided to snap the place types to the boundary of strategic catalyst area when there was a small gap between the two. Area where place types extended into the strategic catalyst areas were left as is. 7. Cemeteries are classified as public use in the 2050 Comprehensive Plan but are classified as park & open space on the adopted future land use plan map. a. Development Services decided to leave the cemeteries classified as park & open space as defined on the adopted future land use plan map.

Description: Karst Zones are delineated areas that inform the likelihood of rare or endangered species being present. Each Karst Zone is delineated within the boundaries of an established Karst Fauna Region, primarily based on lithology (i.e., general physical characteristics of rock types). The Zone definitions are as follows:<div><ul><li><b>Karst Zone 1</b>. Areas known to contain endangered karst invertebrate species.</li><li><b>Karst Zone 2</b>. Areas having a high probability of suitable habitat for endangered or other endemic karst invertebrate species.</li><li><b>Karst Zone 3a</b>. Description: This data set represents the extent, approximate location and type of wetlands and deepwater habitats in the conterminous United States. These data delineate the areal extent of wetlands and surface waters as defined by Cowardin et al. (1979). Certain wetland habitats are excluded from the National mapping program because of the limitations of aerial imagery as the primary data source used to detect wetlands. These habitats include seagrasses or submerged aquatic vegetation that are found in the intertidal and subtidal zones of estuaries and near shore coastal waters. Some deepwater reef communities (coral or tuberficid worm reefs) have also been excluded from the inventory. These habitats, because of their depth, go undetected by aerial imagery. By policy, the Service also excludes certain types of "farmed wetlands" as may be defined by the Food Security Act or that do not coincide with the Cowardin et al. definition. Contact the Service's Regional Wetland Coordinator for additional information on what types of farmed wetlands are included on wetland maps.

Description: TxDOT's 25 Districts are geographic subdivisions of the state, each responsible for planning, contruction, and maintenance of on-system roadways within its administrative boundary. Each district is a conglomeration of several Texas counties. Area Engineer and Maintenance Section Offices are subdivisions of a district. This version utilizes a generalized boundary along the coast, which is sometimes necessary for analysis in which it is important to encompass segments of roadways that travel over water. Roadways on bridges or causeways that span intracoastal waterways are not covered by detailed polygons that precisely follow the coastline, therefore a generalized boundary is needed for some types of analysis where it is important to preserve such relationships.Date valid as of: December 2017Publish Date: November 2018Update Frequency: Static.

Description: This data set consists of general soil association units. It was developed by the National Cooperative Soil Survey and supersedes the State Soil Geographic (STATSGO) data set published in 2006. It consists of a broad based inventory of soils and nonsoil areas that occur in a repeatable pattern on the landscape and that can be cartographically shown at the scale mapped. The data set was created by generalizing more detailed soil survey maps. Where more detailed soil survey maps were not available, data on geology, topography, vegetation, and climate were assembled, together with Land Remote Sensing Satellite (LANDSAT) images. Soils of like areas were studied, and the probable classification and extent of the soils were determined. Map unit composition was determined by transecting or sampling areas on the more detailed maps and expanding the data statistically to characterize the whole map unit. This data set consists of georeferenced vector digital data and tabular digital data. The map data were collected in 1-by 2-degree topographic quadrangle units and merged into a seamless national data set. It is distributed in state/territory and national extents. The soil map units are linked to attributes in the National Soil Information System data base which gives the proportionate extent of the component soils and their properties.Last Update: 10/13/2016Downloaded on 7/26/2021 by Sara Dunlap from USDA Web Soil Survey: https://websoilsurvey.sc.egov.usda.gov/App/WebSoilSurvey.aspx
